P-Town Memories with Lance Bass

So now that Lance Bass is actually out of the closet and on the cover of People Magazine telling the world that he is gay I can share with you the details from P-Town in a blog entry I'm calling "P-Town Memories with Lance Bass".

I met Lance through Reichen, who I know through a very good friend in LA. Lance, let me just say, was a really cool down to earth guy ... we had a lot of fun and our make out during the "make out" contest was what I think put him over the edge to come out. These lips are known to leave the boys wanting more.

So that's my P-Town Lance Bass story. I'm happy for him and glad that he is now happy and free to be himself! In addition, although it may not be realized...these "coming outs" of stars (that may seem to be insignificant to some of us in real life) actually helps to change the environment (public attitudes) for all of us...little by little we all make a difference in fighting bigotry, hate and intolerance...

Haley, Haley, Haley

Haley Joel Osment in hospital after accident
‘Sixth Sense’ star loses control of car driving back to L.A. home

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. - Haley Joel Osment was hospitalized early Thursday after he apparently lost control of his car while heading to his Los Angeles area home, authorities said.
Osment, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a boy who could see dead people in "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when the car collided with a brick pillar and flipped, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.
The 18-year-old actor was awake and talking following the crash, Sisneros said. He had been alone in the car and was taken to Huntington Hospital in nearby Pasadena.

Haley...it sucks that you "lost control" of your car...but what sucks more is that you lost control of a 1995 Saturn...what the fuck? You were nominated for a freaking Academy Award...get off the booze and get a real car...at a minimum, one from this century.

Elijah Wood

I ran across this website:

http://www.veryverygay.com/elijahwood/ewivvg.html

It made me laugh...and that's always a good thing...except when your in bed with a mate and you left David Letterman on the TV...laughing at David's jokes during an intimate moment = not so good.

Happy Blogiversary

Today is my 1 year anniversary for starting my Blog. I really don't remember why I decided to start this blog, although, it has been a good way for me to put thoughts down and keep a written log of what has been happening over the last year. As I go back and read some of the previous posts, its interesting what I found to be important or what I was struggling with...in hindsight a majority of those things were inconsequential. But we do this everyday in our daily lives...we worry about things that we can't control and blow other things way out of proportion. Its also fun to go back and relive some of the good times I've had over the last year... went to Buenos Aires, ran the San Diego Marathon, Charlie, trips to P-Town, Pensacola, Helen, etc...all in all its been a great year. Looking into the future one year, I'm going to try and do a better job of defining what I want and how I'm going to get it. I just had a conversation with a close friend about how he is always trying to help out other people. What about helping out yourself? When do you put yourself first? For me I'm looking to the next year to do that...on my second blogiversary, I hope that I will have had a successful year and plenty more to reflect upon.

Happy Bastille Day

So I've been traveling all week long for work...and it has been a test of my patience that's for sure. Both return flights to Atlanta were delayed and when I finally did get on the plane from Philly I was seated next to the World's Champion Gum Snapper - I seriously ain't kidding. If there is something I can't stand, its the sound of somebody chewing gum like a freaking cow and snapping it all along the way. I wasn't going to say anything, but when we got on the runway and were told that we were 25th in line for take-off...I just couldn't take being held captive anymore.

Me: Excuse me...tap...tap
Champion Gum Snapper: Yes...snap, snap, snap
Me: Do you realize how loud you are chewing your gum?
Champion Gum Snapper: What? Is it loud?
Me: Um, yes
Champion Gun Snapper: I'm so embarrassed
Me: You should be. (said while putting back on iPod)

Gum snapping ceased.

Then on my way back from Roanoke, the Flight Attendant Call button short circuited...so we had to listen to that "Ding, Ding" constantly for about an hour...talk about different forms of Chinese Water Torture. I actually found it amusing to see how angry some people got...one guy decided that punching the back of the seat in front of him would relieve some of his stress...it only made the woman in that seat concerned for her safety...oh, the friendly skies.

No real hook up news from my P-Town stay over the 4th...a little snuggling with a cutey from Boston and a missed opportunity with Captain Alaska. I just didn't know he was that interested until he hunted me down after the trip...too late...

This weekend I would like to turn in some of my goodness for debauchery....I hope I can find some takers.

More Exciting

I've decided that my posts are to get a bit more exciting...after reading back on a couple of previous posts...yawn...so here is my first attempt...

Why did I get a text message from a past boy that read "Country Gays sure are interesting"...what the hell does that mean and why at 11:30 at night? In my attempt to rationalize, maybe he is flirting or trying to just say hey, Twon brought me back to reality..."Isn't he now dating Lynn? L-Y ... M-A, y'all are probably just next to each other and he made a mistake with his text...he was probably trying to send it to Lynn. Hmph! Probably so...thanks Twon.

Getting real excited about building a house on the periphery of Candler Park...its only .2 miles from the "boundary", but if I can build the house I want, I'll be mighty excited...the fact that my lot backs up to the ghetto only provides me with the knowledge that lawn help is just a stones throw away

Twon, MaHo and I have set a September 21st deadline for getting boyfriends. If we don't, then we will drink ourselves into a weekend of memory losses.

I've emailed and texted all the boys I met in P-Town...that is a total of 5....its always good to keep in touch with people in other cities - you never know when you will need a place to crash

Traveling this week for work and getting some additional trips scheduled for Denver, New Orleans/Baton Rouge and Boston/Providence for August

I will not date somebody who does not live in Atlanta. I have to keep telling myself this

Back from the Cape

P-Town 2006 has come to a close - for me at least. I left yesterday and after 6 hours of travel, Ferry to Taxi to Plane to Subway, I made it home. I slept like a baby last night and really needed that. I barely made it out of bed this morning, but here I am - at work with hundreds of emails and a full day of meetings. Awesome. P-Town was great this year. A bit more relaxing, since we didn't do all the parties, but went out every night to the bars. The one party we went to was the big party on Saturday Night - which was a lot of fun - it was held out in an Airport Hangar, which proved to be a very unique space. Actually went to the beach this year, which is beautiful. Typical Cape Cod, with sand dunes, marshy grasses and pebbled beaches. It really is amazing. Met some really great people, drank a lot, ate lots of pizza, sat back and admired the harsh 'Boston' attitudes, enjoyed time with the boys, dodged kamikaze mosquitoes and made amazing memories. Coming home a few days early was a good thing for me...I get worn out from day after day of partying. Last year I was worn out and sick for about 10 days. I'm feeling good today, but do miss P-Town already. Next year, if I go, I'd like to stay the whole week, but not go out every night. The weather was great - a bit hot actually, but no rain until the last day. I'll get some pictures posted soon...
